Fishing in Greg’s new boat
Beaver Lake
Dare I say it!! We finally get a week with no flooding amounts of rain... Hopefully the lake can start to stabilize...
Last time out I jumped in my friend Greg’s new boat. The night before we got it outfitted for rigging and planned to fish that method the next day.
We got launched about 5:30 heading to a feeder creek. We fished in there for about 2 hours and wasn’t doing much good. We caught several shorts but just wasn’t seeing many keeping size fish. I told Greg this is what us professional guides call “ eliminating water” lol...
Let’s go eliminate some more lol..
We decided to make a move to another feeder creek. Once there we caught a keeper right off. Catching immediately picked up. Just still not many keepers. We stayed at it searching and covering water. We catch a keeper here and there. The little ones kept us busy in between keepers. We got on a decent pattern and started picking keepers off once we moved out deeper closer to the creek channel.
Lake elevation was 1129.3. Water clarity was stained in the creek arms and mud in the river. WT was 65. Best bite was in 22-25 fow at about 6-13 feet deep.
It’s a grind out there. They pretty scattered but stick with it and you’ll catch at least a limit or close to it. We caught 55 total crappie with 13 of them being keepers.
