Man what some good days fishing the last couple times out…. They were mad…

Got out and fished after working a bit in the morning. I started about 11am and had 10 in no time. Decided to pull up and fish a couple other spots. One was up a feeder creek in 3-4 fow. Basically have put a big X on that spot until we get a good rain blow out. It has just gotten too full of shad. I move back out on the main river channel and fished a flat. Fish are roaming really well. I caught them in 4 fow to 19 fow. They just all over the place and high in the water column. 2-8 feet deep. I would say the most consistent depth would be about 12 fow. The next time out they were hangry for the first part of the morning but then slowed up. They were more finicky / spooky and spread out a little more. Basically had to line up on every single individual fish. Personally I just hate that. I like the sitting on the edge of my seat seeing that random unexpected rod tip go down.

The pattern was the same each day. Just depends on how mad they are.

Set up was minnow rigging 20ft BnM BGJP’s with half ounce double minnow rigs I tie myself with Pico Lures/Vanguard Terminal Tackle.

It’s hard to believe that it’s March already. Next to June this is my favorite month to fish. I just hope the weather doesn’t ruin it.

We got a pretty good amount of rain finally. I know we needed it, just don’t want to blow out the river arms. From my understanding I think we got a little more color up the river but not too terrible. We’ll see what the next couple days bring with rain totals and decide if to go drown a minnow or two this weekend.

I’ve been fishing different methods the past few weeks.  Rigging and casting.  Out of the two, casting has been more successful….  Rigging I’m just not seeing many fish roaming.  They so scattered it makes you wonder if there’s even any in the lake.  I’ve had to rig over trees to pick them off because that’s the only way I’m finding them right now.   Greg and I went together the last couple weekends and fished brush one trip.  The other we cast at roamers.  We had success each time but casting to wood was more successful.  Best bite was in 17-23 fow casting.   
I haven’t cast to them in a while.   It’s been a fun change up the past couple weeks.   I need to do that more often on my own. 
WT is 78.  Lake elevation is coming down 1121.8. Water clarity is pretty clear for the river arms.
I’m gonna try a different area that I don’t traditionally fish this time of year.  I use to a few years ago when they kept the lake at higher levels and would do pretty well.   I’m going on a hunch that’ll be able to catch them rigging there.   
I rather rig to know how that bite goes because in the coming weeks I’ve got folks booked and it’s much better experience if I can catch them rigging.  
Rigging setup is 16ft BnM  PST’s with 1oz double minnow rigs, that I tie up using Pico Lures/Vanguard Tackle 
Casting setup has been BnM sharpshooter six with a 1/16oz Jighead and a size 5 spit shot above it.  Color have been natural colors.  Pepper pearl, monkey milk 
Not much to report on.  I’m just ready for the water temperature to start dropping.  We hit mid 50’s for morning lows this weekend.  But, don’t get your hopes up.  Back up into 90’s next week.  First fall tease.  It’ll be summer one day and turn winter the next.  Then stay winter…. Good fishing Lance
